CAN elects new president
Rev. Samson Olasupo Adeniyi Ayokunle,
the president of the Nigerian Baptist
Tradition (NBC), has been chosen as the
new president of the Christian Association
of Nigeria (CAN).
Ayokunle, who is a competitor of the Nigerian
Baptist Convention (NBC) won Elder Joseph
Otubu of the Motailatu Church Cherubim and
Seraphim Movement (MCCSW) by 57 to 28
votes.
The decision was hung on Tuesday, June 14,
2016. The outcomes showing the victor was
reported by the quick past president of
CAN, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor .
The venue for the decision was the National
Christian Center in Central Business Center of
Abuja, Vanguard reports.
Taking into account the laws managing the affiliation, Elder
Joseph Otubu, who was the runner-up at the
decision, will be made the VP.
Both will serve in their positions for a time of
three years.
