Fashola New Minister of Power, Works and Housing starts work

Former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola has resumed in his new office as the Minister of Power, Works and Housing. Fashola is said to have commenced an inquiry into the problems of the power sector and why it has failed all these years. The minister was assigned the position by President Muhammadu Buhari after being sworn in on November 11, 2015. Fashola met with officials of the ministry shortly after his inauguration and urged them to work with him in solving the problems on ground.

Wizkid Singer loses all his music and backup files

Wizkid has revealed that he has lost all his music files. The pop star took to social media today to reveal that his personal computer crashed, and with it went all of his music files. This also includes the backup files. “Woke up mad and tired! My Mac crashed on me and I lost everything! Guess who also lost his back up files? Me!” Wizkid wrote on Instagram. This loss comes at a crucial time, as the Starboy CEO is gearing up for the release of a new song titled ‘Baba Nla’. According to the singer, this huge loss will not affect the unveiling. “Tryna get my files back but Baba nla still drops today!!! #TeamWizkid » they can't stop us! We move!” He further wrote.

Akinwunmi Ambode Lagos governor reveals 30- year strategic master plan for improving traffic

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode is definitely ready to combat the terrible situation in Lagos state. Yesterday, November 12th, he commissioned the Mile 12-Ikorodu BRT Extension and launching of new BRT buses.  Speaking at the event, Governor Ambode said that his administration was committed to faithfully addressing traffic congestion and improving public transportation in the state. He went on to reveal the state's 30-year strategic master plan for improving traffic, adding that this plan was being implemented. "Our administration is committed to deal with issues of traffic congestion and bringing comfort and convenience to commuters in Lagos state. "The BRT system is initiated as part of a strategy to modernise the public transport system as we have it in many parts of the world. "The 30-year strategic master plan involves six rail lines, 13 BRT corridors, three cubical corridors and 26 developed water roots.’ "

Lagos University Teaching Hospital LASUTH carries out first kidney transplant, records success

Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) on Thursday 12th of November conducted its first kidney transplant ever. The best part is, it was a success. The patient requiring transplant was 56-year- old man and his donor was his 26-year-old nephew.  The life-saving procedure took two and a half hours. Leader of the transplant team, a Consultant Nephrologist, Jacob Awobusuyi , said the initiative was conceived three years ago. “Before the operation, both the 56-year-old recipient and the 26-year-old donor who was the patient’s nephew expressed concern. But after the operation they were both fine,” he said. This is great news both for the advancement of healthcare and the economy of Nigeria. The costs incurred in travelling out for medical tourism would do more good if invested inwards
