California Shooting Update Attackers borrowed $28,000 before attack

A married couple who killed 14 people in a California shooting rampage the FBI is investigating as an act of terrorism borrowed about $28,000 from an online lender, a sum deposited into their bank account about two weeks before the attack, sources said on Tuesday. Disclosure of the unsecured loan the husband, Syed Rizwan Farook, 28, took out from San Francisco-based Prosper, a peer-to-peer lending service, offered a new glimpse into the money trail under scrutiny by investigators of last week's mass shooting. The Federal Bureau of Investigation has described Farook, the U.S.-born son of Pakistani immigrants, and his Pakistani-born wife, Tashfeen Malik, 29, as a couple "radicalized" by Islamic extremist ideology. Dambazau Interior minister assures foreign investors of adequate security

Minister of Interior, retired Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau, has assured foreign investors of adequate security and the enabling environment for business in Nigeria. The Minister gave the assurance when the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Gu Xiaojie, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja on Tuesday. He said the Federal Government was working round the clock to ensure adequate security of lives and property of Nigerians and foreign investors in a bid to reposition the country. "The Ministry of Interior is working hard to ensure internal security and protection of lives and property. "We want to assure foreign investors of the enabling environment for their businesses to thrive in Nigeria in line with the Federal government’s change agenda," he said. Soyinka ‘I do not regret supporting Buhari,’ Nobel Laureate says

Playwright and Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka in an interview, revealed that he supported President Muhammadu Buhari during the elections, adding that he does not regret taking that decision. Soyinka also said that Nigeria would not have existed, if former President Goodluck Jonathan won the just concluded elections. He said this on a Channels Television programme- Channels Book Club He said “We were left with two credible contestants in terms of catchment area for the nation. We had reached, in my view, the bottom. I became convinced that if this country underwent four more years under President Jonathan, the country would run aground completely.
