Brussels Explosion:Blast hits Crime Laboratory

Shortly before 02:30 local time (00:30 GMT), a car rammed through three fences, leading to an explosion and a large fire, RTL Belgium reported. Belgian media said "one or more" suspects then reportedly set off a bomb near the laboratories.But police could not confirm that a bomb had exploded.Belgium's terror alert level remains high since bomb attacks on Brussels airport and the city's metro, claimed by so-called Islamic State, that killed 32 people in March.There were no casualties in the latest blast, Belgian media reported, and it is unclear what happened to the perpetrators.Fire service spokesman Pierre Meys told Agence France-Presse that the"extremely powerful" blast "was probablynot accidental".Some 30 firefighters helped put out the resulting fire at the National Institute of Criminology, which media said suffered"significant" damage. President Buhari, over the weekend strongly assured existing and prospective foreign investors that their investments in Nigeria will be fully secured and protected. Speaking at a bilateral meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, on the sidelines of the sixth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) in Nairobi, Kenya, President Buhari outlined several steps taken by his administration to secure the country and ease doing business in Nigeria. He told the Japanese leader that with the defeat of the Boko Haram terrorists by the military, the attention of the administrationis now focused on stopping the destruction of the country's economic assets by militants in the Niger Delta region.He said the militants must dialogue with the Federal government or be dealt with in the same way like Boko Haram. Nigeria President  has reiterated the preparedness of the Federal Government to discuss the release of the Chibok girls kidnapped by Boko Haram terror group since 2014. In an interview with journalists in Nairobi, Kenya at the weekend, President Buhari said the Nigerian government is ready to dialogue with bonafide leaders of the terror group who know the whereabouts of the girls."I have made a couple of comments on theChibok girls and it seems to me that much of it has been politicised. The 55-year-old woman who's the older sister of pop star, Mariah Carey, was arrested in the upstate New York town of Saugerties on a prostitution charge. Alison was booked on the prostitution charge after cops allege that she was working illegally out of a local hotel and soliciting money in exchange for sexual favors from an undercover police officer.The U.S Police are concerned that the woman, who 'based on reports' is HIV positive, may have transmitted the diseaseto her clients. Lagos reads Riot act to owners of illegal structures,street hawkers in lekki ,Victoria Island and Ikoyi ,issues 14 -day ultimatum

The Lagos State Government today read the riot act to all the owners of illegal structures, shanties, street hawkers and those who have converted walkways into trading points and food courts in Ikoyi, Victoria Island and the Lagoon Front of Lekki, and issued a 14-day grace period to remove such illegal structures.In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr Tunji Bello, the State Government warned that if such illegal structures are not removed after the 14 days grace, the State Special Task Force on the Clean Up of the areas would move in to enforce the laws. “The owners of all illegal structures, shanties, abandoned buildings and all those who have converted road median to commercial uses in Ikoyi, Victoria Island and Lekki have between today and two weeks’ time to comply or have the State Special Task Force on the Clean Up of the areas to contend with,” the SSG warned.
