Doctors in  South China to be Precise Guangzhou have successfully operated on a 28-week-old fetus with congenital heart disease - while in its mom’s belly. The patient ,39, whose surname is Die, six months ago she became pregnant. Twenty-one weeks later, she had an ultrasonic test which showed the fetus was suffering from arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia.  The chances of survival are very low if surgery is undertaken after birth.Xie,39, insisted she wanted to keep the baby. And on September 22, doctors in Guangzhou conducted interventional cardiology treatment, with the help of experts from Austria. The size of the fetus’ heart was very small as it was  as small as an almond so any slight complication could have resulted in damage, said Zhuang Jian, the director of Guangdong General Hospital.She left 4 days after the surgery. This is the first time an interventional cardiology operation on a fetus’ congenital heart disease had been carried out by Chinese Doctors.

The  police command  in Ogun state has arrested three suspected armed robbers and kidnappers named Abibu, Kamorudeen and Olalekan (surnames withheld), believed to have been terrorising Ijebu-Ode and Sagamu respectively. The state's spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad operatives at Ipoji area of Sagamu, were able to have arrested the suspects due to information given to them by theresidents. Meanwhile, two pump action riffles, one double barrel gun, one English barrel gun and single barrel guns have been recovered from the suspects.The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has said investigation is currently on and other suspected members will soon be arrested.

The US  government will host 19 Northern state governors in its Capital,Washington DC next week.  They will be visiting the states at the invitation of the United States Institute of Peace (USIP).The Governors  will  also be participating in the Northern Nigeria Governors Symposium on  Tuesday October 18th to Friday October 21st.
