A group allegedly sponsored by the Rivers state Government, Grassroots Development Initiative, have cautioned Dr. Dakuku Peterside, over comments he made about the Governor Nyesom Wike. Peterside alleged that the River state Governor, did not actually spend N30bn in the construction of roads, as he claims. Dismissing the claim, Mr. Samuel Nwanosike, the Secretary-General of Grassroots Development Initiative, said “A few days ago, we heard a very disappointing statement from Dr. Dakuku Peterside, who told the public that he did send out people to go and investigate the work done on the road infrastructure by the state government. “He (Peterside) said the report brought to him was that the work done by Nyesom Wike is about 10 kilometres of road. The Albino Foundation on Thursday alleged that a 21-year-old albino, Mr Sunday Haruna, died at the National Hospital as a result of negligence on the part of the hospital officials. President of the foundation, Mr Jake Epelle, made the allegation at a news conference in Abuja. According to him, the action of the National Hospital negated a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which the foundation signed with the hospital in 2012.
