EFCC arrest man for $19,534 fraud

The EFCC, on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, arrested a suspected fraudster, Elvis Yemaye for allegedly defrauding one A.J. Kuba, to the sum of $19,534.     According to a statement released by the agency, Kuba alleged that Yemaye in collaboration with his cronies had swindled him of huge sum of money running to millions while threatening to release a recorded romance video belonging him to the public.The complainant noted that Yemaye started his blackmail when the he, the victim decided to back out from an earlier business of making him a beneficiary of his inheritance, a business he later found out to be a scam.Investigation into the matter revealed that, the suspect falsely represented himself to the unsuspecting Kuba as Chief Barrister Elvis Yemaye. Court grants Femi Fani Kayode N50m

  Femi Fani-Kayode, has been granted bail by the Federal High Court in Abuja bail in the sum of N50m, and one surety in like sum. He was re-arrested by EFCC operatives last month, is standing trial for money laundering to the tune of N26m.Presiding over the case in court today, Justice James Tsoho, ruled that the offence Fani-Kayode was being arraigned for was a bailable one and he granted the bail application tendered by FFK's counsel, Afedayo Adedipe.Justice Tsoho ordered that the former Minister be remanded in prison custody pending the fulfillment of his bail condition. Justice Tsoho ruled that commencement of trial holds on December 14th. He is still in their custody as he perfects his bail.

49 people including 25 managers and 24 employees of Ruihai Logistics in China have been sentenced to jail in connection with an explosion at a chemical storage facility in China, that killed over 165 people, most of them firefighters and police officers in August 2015.The Courton Wednesdayruled that Yu Xuewei, chairman of Ruihai International Logistics, paid bribes to obtain permission to illegally store more than 49,000 tonnes of sodium cyanide and other highly toxic chemicals at the company’s warehouse in the city’s port area between 2013 and 2015.The court found the management guilty of carelessness and said the company ignored safety rules and violated municipal planning, as the massive heart wrenching explosions left scenes of devastation in the northern port city of Tianjin- a disaster the people of Tianjin haven't still gotten over, more than a year after it happened.The people who died from the explosions included 99 firefighters and 11 police officers, who were no
