Nollywood Director Bassey Kpokpogri Dies of Peptic Ulcer,Aged 38

 Nollywood filmmaker and Director, Ansa Bassey Kpokpogri has passed away. The Calabar-born mother of one reportedly died of pains from peptic ulcer. Uduak Isong Oguamanam,a Filmmaker and a  younger sister of Emem Isong, took to her Facebook to write a glowing tribute to the University of Calabar graduate, whom she described as a friend, partner and colleague;       "Grief. President elect Donald Trump, has  named two top advisers to his administration Sunday, tapping Republican Party Chairman Reince Priebus to be his new chief of staff and Steve Bannon, the Trump campaign CEO and executive chairman of Breitbart News, as chief strategist and senior counselor."Steve and Reince are highly qualified leaders who worked well together on our campaign and led us to a historic victory. Troops seize Illegal Bunkering Equipments in Delta State

Troops of Sector 1, from Burutu LGA of Delta State, known as ‘Operation Delta Safe’ have seized some illegal bunkering equipment along Chanomi North bank pipeline of the area. According to Channels, theseizure was made during operations within the area by the troops where items such as; welding machine, two inserted valves, two shovels, two filing machines, two packets of electrolyte, one hose, bolts, nuts of various sizes and a pumping machine, were recovered from the perpetrators.The troops while on patrol along the Rumuekpe area,also discovered militants and kidnappers camp. A statement by the 'Operation Delta Safe' confirmed that operations of the troops within the Niger Delta region saw to the dismantling of the camp. Meanwhile, the troops handed over to Ughelli area Command, two suspects, Julius Egorume and Ese Ohoro, who were arrested earlier in connection with act of vandalism at Nigeria Petroleum Development Company (NPDC).In another location in Ugbemu Village along

Kenyan Police Arrest Nigerian Man involved in Printing of Fake Currencies

Kenya police raided a house in Kayole area, Nairobi on Friday, November 11th and arrested a Nigerian involved in printing fake US dollars. Over 860,000 fake US currency (pictured above) were recovered in the operation. The police conducted the raid after receiving credible intelligence that he was in possession of the fake dollars.The Nigerian was taken to custody as hunt for his accomplices continues. Police suspect more of the fake papers had been supplied to the market. Unit head Noah Katumo said such money is used for political campaigns in the country and affect the economy.

Obasanjo wanted to be President For Life, Says Atiku

The EFCC quarterly Magazine had a recent interview with Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar who said his former boss ,former President Olusegun Obasanjo, had planned to amend the constitution so that he can be president for life as against the third term bid he was presumed to be pursuing. The Former Vice President said that his refusal to support Obasanjo's request made them fall apart;      "My offence was that I disagreed with him on the amendment of the constitution to remove tenure/term limits or what was popularly called the ‘third term agenda. In fact, he sent the then Attorney-General and Prof. Jerry Gana to my office to bring the draft amendments to the constitution. After going through (them), I found out that tenure limits had been removed. In other words, he could be President for life. I then asked them that ‘if I send you to the President, can you deliver this message? They said yes. I said ‘go and tell him I will not support it and (I) will fight it’.

The Federal Government through the office of the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, has filed a 15 count criminal charge against Justice Adeniyi Francis Adetokunbo Ademola of the federal High Court and his wife, Mrs.Olabowale Toluwatope Ademola, over allegations of collecting bribe from lawyers and others.Justice Ademola is among the judges whose homeswere raided by DSS officials last month. According to the charge sheet filed at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and signed by Hajara Yusuf, a principal State Counsel, on behalf of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Alhaji Abubakar Malami SAN, Justice Ademola and his wife collected gratification from lawyers between February 2014 and June 2016 contrary to Section 8 of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission Act, 2011 and Section 115 of the Penal Code Law.
