The Nigeria professional football league(NPFL) will start the 2017 football season in December 2016 LMC chairman,Alhaji Shehu Dikko has revealed as football enthusiasts have been in the dark about the kick off date for the new season following the successful conclusion of the last season.    "We are looking at December, 2016 to start the new season,"We have told the club sides to start getting prepared and I'm aware that some of them have been notifying their players to return to camp for training to commence.If we get the full cooperation of the clubs in the area of preseason formalities,the league will commence in December". A 17yr old girl has been killed in Philippines by unknown gunmen for drug dealing.  She was found lying dead in the street with her blood-stained Barbie doll toy  making her the latest dead person of the Philippines war on drugs.According to reports She was shot dead alongside her older friend by unknown motorcycle-riding gunmen in an alley in Manila.Her shooters left a cardboard sign on the body of her21-year-old male friend with the message 'You are a drug pusher, you are an animal'. However, after the  police investigated the area on getting to the scene, they now believe she may be an innocent victim caught up in the shooting when the gunman tried to target her male friend.

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki,  has seen his application dismissed by the Coirt Of Appeal In Abuja challenging the jurisdiction of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) to entertain the charges of false asset declaration leveled against him by the Federal government.   Giving Verdict on Saraki's application today, Justice Abdul Aboki who led the five-man panel ruled that the appeal is unmeritorious and was then entirely dismissed.     The judges unanimously  agreed  that the tribunal was constitutionally empowered to entertain and try him for the 16-charges of corruption and false asset declaration brought against him.

The  Syrian Observatory for Human Rights have reported that airstrikes hit a school in  the Northwestern part killing 35 people, 11 children and 7 women inclusiveon Wednesdaynight-  and the death toll is expected to rise with many in critical condition.UNICEF, the United Nation's  agency for children, said that the strikes are a war crime.     "It's a tragedy. It's an outrage. And if deliberate, it's a war crime. This latest atrocity may be the deadliest attack on a school since the war began more than five years ago.""
