Nigeria Army Arrest Top Boko Haram Commander in Local Governnent Chairman's House in Borno State

A Boko Haram top Commander was arrested by The Troops for Operation Lafiya Dole on the night of December 30th,in the private residence of the Caretaker Chairman of Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State.
According to Reports ,the Caretaker chairman is guilty for either harbouring or fraternizing with the suspected terrorist, as he failed to report his presence to security agencies. Though news about the arrest is scanty, residents of 1,000 Housing Estate in Maiduguri where the chairman lives, said armed men stormed his house yesterday and arrested both men after receiving intelligence that the Boko Haram commander had sneaked into the house for safety.
       "They first barricaded everywhere, stormed the house and took them away but I could not go near toknow if they recovered any arms or not," one of the residents told Daily Trust on Sunday.A military source said both men have been detained in a military facility to enable thorough investigation into the matter.

Four Feared Dead in Ivory Coast Crash.

A cargo plane has crashed into the sea off Ivory Coast, close to Abidjan airport, killing four people and injuring six. The wreckage of the turboprop plane, which was carrying ten people, was swept toward a beach where rescuers treated surviving crewmen on the sand. All four of the dead are Moldovan while four French nationals and two Moldovans were injured. Local police told AFP the aircraft had been trying to land when it crashed. According to local news site Ivoire Matin one person was taken into custody after the crash. It is unclear if they are a member of the crew. Reuters news agency reports that the plane crashed during a storm with heavy rain and lightning. The plane was a Ukrainian-made Antonov chartered by the French army as part of its anti-jihadist Operation Barkhane, a French military source told AFP
