N471.8m released by FG to Offset Bonuses of Super Eagles
The Nigeria government has released N471.8m for the unpaid bonuses of the Super Eagles and Super Falcons.
this happened after the Super Falcons protested at the National Assembly on Wednesday 14th
mrs Kenechukwu Offie, the director of information of the accountant general of the Federation announced that the sum of 471.8 million naira was approved by the Minister of finance, Kemi Adeosun and was paid to Central bank of Nigeria on Thursday.
She said that N358 million was to take care for the outstanding winning bonuses of the Super Falcons at the 2016 African Women's Cup of Nations in Cameroon where they eventually became champions
she also said that 113.8 million Naira was meant to pay for the bonuses of the Super Eagles in the 2018 World Cup qualifying matches.
The Director also stated that the money has been paid to the account of the NFF for onward payment of the teams which President Buhari has given instructions which must be executed within 24 hours.
