Lily King wins Gold in 100m Breast Stroke

Lilly King proved that you can't cheat and come out on top when she beat out her Russian rival Yulia Efimova to win the gold in the women’s 100m breast stroke at the Olympics on Aug. 8.

Theae are details around her stunning win right here. So many issues have been coming up and on Aug. 8 it finally came to a head.

Lilly King won the gold when she finished the women’s 100m breast stroke in 1:04.93. Her biggest rival,Yulia Efimova, was a very close secondwith a time of 1:05.50.We love seeing Americans take home the gold, but this win was more than that to Lilly, who has been beefing with Yulia for the past week. The Russian swimmer failed a drug test early in 2016, and was still allowed to compete which was controversial, especially since she had served a 16-month suspension once before.

Lilly took it upon herself to do the job in beating Yulia to gold .see what she said

“I mean, obviously winning an Olympic gold medal is a statement,” said Lilly, thrilled with her gold medal. “It meant we can still compete clean and be in the Olympics and that’s how it should be.”

Dats so great for the U.S ladies swimming  team Yulia had won her heat in the semifinals on Aug. 6, and the crowd was not too pleased. As they booed her, she wagged her finger at them, which enraged Lilly. “You’re shaking your finger number one and you’ve been caught for drug-cheating. I’m just not a fan,” she said. A video before Aug8’s competition showed Lilly wagging her finger at Yulia on a TV screen, showing that she definitely brought her anger to the meet.
