My trial is a mere distraction

Senate President, Bukola Saraki has said that his trial at the code of conduct Tribunal (CCT) is a diversion.

Saraki additionally said that he is frantic to demonstrate his innocence so that
the nation can advance.

"It (CCT trial) is a diversion. I need to demonstrate my innocence at the earliest opportunity so we can advance," he said because of an inquiry on the trial. It is a gigantic diversion," the Senate President told The Link.

"As a foundation we should take a gander at how to fortify the legal. The battle against debasement must be straightforward. It may moderate us a tad bit down, yet I am sure we will gain ground.

"The gathering of representatives we have now are extremely energetic. You can't contrast it with the past senate. Representatives have come there as congresspersons of the government republic and not as legislators of APC or PDP. I'm respected by the backing that they have given me.

"We are concentrating on the economy and on how we can improve Nigeria a spot. This is not quite the same as before," he included.

Saraki is confronting charges of benefit revelation misrepresentation before the CCT.

In the mean time, the Senate President has denied reports that N300 million in real money was stolen from his home in Ilorin, Kwara State including that exclusive N12 million was taken by the criminals.
