Imeh Bishop Umoh Actor appointed special adviser to Akwa Ibom state governor

Nollywood actor, Imeh Bishop has been appointed as a Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom State Governor On Ethical and Social Reorientation. Popularly known as 'Okon', he joins Ini Edo who was also appointed Special adviser on tourism in Akwa Ibom state. Bishop confirmed the news today, May 6, 2016 writing, " Yes it's true... been made Special Assistant To The Governor On Ethical and Social Reorientation, Akwa Ibom State. Thank you Gov Udom Emmanuel. Most above all, Thank you Jesus. " Imeh Bishop is a funny Nollywood actor from Nsit-Ibom Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State. The 2008 Emem Isong-produced movie ‘Uyai,' drew attention to the actor. However, he became a household name after his character in the hilarious hit movies ‘Okon goes to Lagos’ ‘Okon Goes to School,’ among others. He has been featured in over 100 movies.

Four Feared Dead in Ivory Coast Crash.

A cargo plane has crashed into the sea off Ivory Coast, close to Abidjan airport, killing four people and injuring six. The wreckage of the turboprop plane, which was carrying ten people, was swept toward a beach where rescuers treated surviving crewmen on the sand. All four of the dead are Moldovan while four French nationals and two Moldovans were injured. Local police told AFP the aircraft had been trying to land when it crashed. According to local news site Ivoire Matin one person was taken into custody after the crash. It is unclear if they are a member of the crew. Reuters news agency reports that the plane crashed during a storm with heavy rain and lightning. The plane was a Ukrainian-made Antonov chartered by the French army as part of its anti-jihadist Operation Barkhane, a French military source told AFP
