Not less than Nine Illegal Immigrants Escape from Police Custody in South Africa




The Police Service in South Africa are presently in the hunt for a group of illegal immigrants that escaped from the Home Affairs Department transport vehicle.
      According to reports the Immigrants escaped custody at theMooi River Toll Plaza in KwaZulu-Natal Midlands this morning. Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane the Spokesperson for the Police confirmed the story, He said ‘were being transferred by Home Affairs officials from Ladysmith to Pietermaritzburg. he went further to say ‘The scene is still active and we are gathering information.' eyewitness in the area, who was at the scenescene when it happened also said: ‘They broke the door open and then scattered into traffic. As they made their escape, shots were fired but all the commotion caused a multi-vehicle pile-up.'The prisoners then ran into Bruntville -an informal settlement that lies adjacent to the toll plaza and now, there is a search for them. The problem is that the prisoners were dressed in civilian clothing so they are hard to spot or identify.
        The Total Number that escaped cannot be said now but they are not fewer than nine persons
