Adamawa declares state of emergency in Education

Adamawa State government has declared a state of emergency in the basic education sector, which comprises primary and secondary schools.Towards this end, two teachers training colleges are to be established immediately.

Rising from an executive council meeting yesterday in Yola, the state executive council noted that the declaration of the emergency and the subsequent establishments of the two teacherstraining colleges were part of the measures to take primary and secondary education to greater heights.Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Ahmed Sajoh, who briefednewsmen at the end of the meeting, disclosed that government would equally embark on aggressive motivations for the teachers in both primary and secondary schools across the state.
