Nine people pass away in Kumasi stampede during the Eid celebrations
Nine individuals have passed on in Ghana's second city,
Kumasi, taking after a charge at a gathering to stamp
the end of Ramadan, a nearby authority has said.
The harmed were taken to an adjacent doctor's facility and
one individual is in a basic condition, Happiness FM
reports.
There are clashing reports of the reason for
Wednesday night's rush.
One onlooker is cited as saying that a force
cut created alarm and the pulverize happened as
individuals raced to leave the venue.
Another said that the lights went out toward the end
of the gathering however individuals were not able get out
since the ways to the group focus
were bolted.
The leader of a Kumasi neighborhood government
gathering, Nurudeen Hamidan, said the police
are currently attempting to work out what happened,
reports the AFP news office.
BBC Ghana journalist Thomas Naadi says
that the main imam in the region, Shiekh Abdul
Moman, communicated worry that Muslims had not
paid attention to calls to show limitation amid the
celebrations.
