Family of injured factory worker seek justice

The family of a 64-year-old factory laborer,

Isaac Olawuyi, has blamed the organization

he worked for, John Holt Plc, for

Abandoning him after he was included in

a mishap in the association's processing plant which

has left him in trance like state for a considerable length of time.

The family report that Olawuyi, a circuit repairman,

was chipping away at some electrical deficiencies in the

Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos State office of the

organization, when the mishap happened in which

he was shocked by the present what not

endeavors by them to get money related backing from

the firm had been fruitless.

Biodun Olawuyi, the casualty's child, said his

father's experience began on May 27, 2016, after he

was shocked while working at the

organization's office.

"My dad is an easygoing laborer in the organization and

he has been working for them for around 10 years

presently. He is on a pay of N30,000 every month.

The issue began on May 27, 2016, while at

work. He was making some electrical repairs

when he endured an electric stun due to a

wrong association.

In any case, the stun didn't divert him from the stepping stool he

climbed. He descended without anyone else's input and a companion

gave him a tin of milk to drink to diminish the impact

of the stun.

He all of a sudden fallen while attempting to take his

drugs. I raised the alert and got him to a

healing facility, where he was put on oxygen for two

days.

After he was conceded, we got in contact with the

HR Chief and she guaranteed to

help yet nothing has left it as such.

In my nearness, she called two of the organization's

healing facilities to check whether my dad could be exchanged

there. The principal doctor's facility did not react.

Yet, the administration of the second healing center said

they would need to see my dad before they

would choose whether to concede him or not.

She then recommended that we ought to take him to

the general clinic. I advised her we expected to pay a

hospital expense of N40,000, which we were owing the

private clinic, however she didn't do anything.

We have been given a letter to move my dad

from the private clinic, however we have no cash

to pay. Though the organization still owes my dad

up to three months pay rates," Biodun deplored.

Be that as it may, responding to the allegation, the Human

Assets Administrator of the organization, said the

organization had done its best for the situation.

"My chiefs have been on my neck that I ought to

converse with the child. I was the one that proposed that

in the event that the private healing facility was not treating him well,

he ought to be taken to a general clinic.

I was of the conclusion that he ought to be moved

from the private healing center to our own particular organization

healing center. The child was there while I conversed with the

healing centers on the phone, and it was the point at which they

were not reacting admirably that I said we ought to

move him to an administration healing center.

I addressed the man's child and got some information about his

father and he said he was alright. He said the

healing facility had asked that he ought to be moved to a

government healing facility.

I said we couldn't simply move him from the private

healing facility to a general doctor's facility since I know

what it takes. They won't take care of him on time

what's more, they may even place him in the open and due to

the way of his ailment, we can't permit him to

be allowed to sit unbothered only for a brief moment.

Till now, the child has not got back to me. Likewise, we

try not to owe his dad. What we are doing now is

taking into account helpful ground since he didn't

indeed, even compose any official letter to the organization about

his ailment."
