ECO bank arrests branch director over 14 million naira fraud
The administration of Ecobank Nigeria »
has encouraged the capture of the operational
director of its Ejigbo branch, Akhanenu
Ikechukwu over a claimed misrepresentation of N14m.
As indicated by reports, the 41-year old financier
was given over to security agents by
administration of the bank after he was supposedly
discovered pulling back N14,014.157 from the
record of two clients of the bank without
power.
Affirming the report, the bank's Corporate
Undertakings Office expressed that Ikechukwu was
given over to the Nigerian Police at the Ikoyi
Division Lagos, Western Nigeria for the reported
offense.
It was further accumulated that the bank director
imparted the cash to a specific Nduka
Stephen, whose age was given as 36 years of age.
As indicated by the police, the suspects were
captured taking after a grievance by the
administration of Ecobank.
Ikechukwu's claimed misappropriation of
clients' assets was uncovered when the
administration of Ecobank evaluated their record
books and found the misrepresentation.
After examination by Sergeant Ijatuyi Tope and
his group, the suspects were summoned before an
Igbosere Officers' Court, Lagos on Monday
on a four-number charge of crime to mind misrepresentation,
falsification and taking.
The charged persons argued not blameworthy to the
assertions and Officer P.A. Adekomaiya
conceded them to safeguard in the whole of N3m each
with two sureties each in like entirety.
Adekomaiya suspended the case till 11 July,
2016 for notice, while the litigants were
taken to Ikoyi Jail, Lagos pending the
flawlessness of their safeguard conditions.
