Akinwunmi Ambode Lagos governor reveals 30- year strategic master plan for improving traffic

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode is definitely ready
to combat the terrible situation in Lagos
state.
Yesterday, November 12th, he commissioned
the Mile 12-Ikorodu BRT Extension and
launching of new BRT buses.  Speaking at the event, Governor Ambode said
that his administration was committed to
faithfully addressing traffic congestion and
improving public transportation in the state. He went on to reveal the state's 30-year
strategic master plan for improving traffic,
adding that this plan was being implemented.
"Our administration is committed to deal with
issues of traffic congestion and bringing comfort
and convenience to commuters in Lagos state.
"The BRT system is initiated as part of a strategy
to modernise the public transport system as we
have it in many parts of the world.
"The 30-year strategic master plan involves six rail
lines, 13 BRT corridors, three cubical corridors
and 26 developed water roots.’ "

Four Feared Dead in Ivory Coast Crash.

A cargo plane has crashed into the sea off Ivory Coast, close to Abidjan airport, killing four people and injuring six. The wreckage of the turboprop plane, which was carrying ten people, was swept toward a beach where rescuers treated surviving crewmen on the sand. All four of the dead are Moldovan while four French nationals and two Moldovans were injured. Local police told AFP the aircraft had been trying to land when it crashed. According to local news site Ivoire Matin one person was taken into custody after the crash. It is unclear if they are a member of the crew. Reuters news agency reports that the plane crashed during a storm with heavy rain and lightning. The plane was a Ukrainian-made Antonov chartered by the French army as part of its anti-jihadist Operation Barkhane, a French military source told AFP
